11 inches of new snow

Wow, what a surprise this morning! We woke up to 11 new inches of snow overnight! Bob had to go to work at 7 am this morning, and he came back in to tell me that we had a lot of new snow and then he continued to tell me 11 new inches. Oh my!! So once I got up and going this morning I decided to venture out and shovel the sidewalk and driveway. He wasnt lying. That snow is deep, plus all the snow that we currently had. So now things are definetly buried!

Merry Christmas!

Well once again Christmas is here. Its seems like so far away, and then out of the blue it appears again. Today was a great day! Early this morning Uncle Bub and Aunt Me Me (we) had to hurry to get to the house before Lyla woke up so we could see the expression on her sweet little face when she saw what Santa brought her. Santa brought her a sink, that she could play in that you put water in and it comes out the faucet. Since she loves playing in the kitchen sink in the water, I guess Santa figured she needed her own sink to play. I forgot to take pictures of it. She was such a joy today. She was so helpful with her Mommy getting all the presents to everybody. I took so many pictures, but I will only post a few. In the pictures Lyla got the new Elmo (that is hilarious), a new tricycle, a table and chairs for dry erase markers, a spring horse, and so so so so much more! She isn't spoiled at all, just LOVED ALOT!
Then this evening we headed back home. The roads were pretty crappy. Very low visibility since it was snowing and also blowing and drifting snow. Slow going, but we made it home safe and sound. Hard to tell what we will wake up to tomorrow. Once we got home we got to talk to Bobs parents in PA to wish them a Merry Christmas and also to wish Bob's mom-Rose a Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday Rose!!!! Hard to believe the New Year is just around the corner. Hope you all had a Very Very Merry Christmas!

Bob!

For those of you who don't know my husband, he absolutely loves the snow! I mean he truly loves the snow! Anytime we get any new snow, he gets all bundled up, and outside he goes. So today I just had to take some pictures of him outside having fun. Also today Jagers incision was started to get really swollen and infected looking, so back to the vet we went. Her belly was swelling so much, that her stitches were cutting into her skin. She wasnt suppose to have her stitches out until the 26th, but Dr. Helms decided to take them out today. It is already looking better now. She has definetely been our vet dog!

Cute Squirrel

I think winter is here to stay! I could do without the cold temps as I am sure most you feel and also the critters outside too. Our neighbor has a squirrel feeder and feeds them peanuts daily. So I noticed a really cold squirrel out on the feeder and he was all puffed up (trying to stay warm I'm sure). Just wanted to share! Enjoy today. . . . . Only 4 more days till Christmas!

Gas Prices

Just had to post these new gas prices here in Great Falls. I went up to Bobs work tonight to take him and his friend dinner and needed gas in the Tahoe. The Flying J on the top of the hill seems to have the cheapest gas. It was too the point that the low fuel light was on, and I was in desperate need of gas. So to the gas station I went after dropping off dinner. I put 22 gallons of gas in and my bill was only $31.02 vs. a while back with fuel at highs ($4.10) it was costing me $90.20 for the same amount of gas. A huge difference of $59.18. That could be someones Christmas present this year. Its so nice that gas prices are continuing to go down. Makes life a little easier on most people. Now lets just pray that is stays at this low point!!!

On the mend!

Yesterday I took Jager to the Vet to get spayed. Poor little girl. She was going to spend the night until I asked if someone was at the clinic overnight with the dogs. Nope. . . . . So I requested that Jager come home with me that afternoon. No sense in her staying in a stange place all alone, when she could home with us and be more comfortable. Last night was a little ruff, since she has to wear the lamp shade thing on her head (so she wont lick the suctures). But she seems to be ok with out it on while just hanging out in the house. Plus we can keep an eye on her to make sure that shes not licking at her wound. Bob got home a little while ago from work and I think with the lack of sleep last night, he layed down on the couch, not only to find his little girl climbing up on his lap to take a nap with him. They are still laying on the couch together, both snoring, and I am telling you its very cute. Here are some pictures from today and last night of Jager re-cooping. I think she is doing good so far!

Butt Cold!

This has been Bobs terminology for our "Arctic cold front" aka "Butt Cold". And that it is! This morning we woke up to 5 inches of blowing and drifting snow and very cold. As the day went on, it got much colder and more snow (a total of 6.5 inches today). Our day consisted of finally doing some Christmas shopping and our trusty Weim-Jager joined us in venturing out into the cold. ****You know your from Montana when its freezing cold out and you leave your car locked and running while you do some shopping and you think its perfectly normal!**** So of course since we are a little redneck out here, we left the car running for Jager so she wouldn't freeze. And I think she enjoyed every minute of it. At one of our stops she was being so very good that we bought her some pig ears and bully sticks. Which made her very happy! So after several stops, crazy dang people who shouldn't be out driving (one of my pet peeves!), and the bitter cold; we decided that it was time to be in our warm home. So this evening Bob ventured back out in the weather to get some photos of our nicely decorated house in the fresh snow. Not to mention the weather outside was BUTT COLD!!!!
Here is the weather info while he was outside. Note: it was -12 below zero and a windchill of -35 below zero. Brrrr......

Miss Lyla

Just wanted to post some pictures of our sweet little niece Lyla. She is getting so big so fast. Lately she has really been talking. Her newest thing is saying: "Be Nice" and of course she holds her little tiny finger and points while saying it. She just cracks us up. These pictures were taken while in the Mountains yesterday getting Christmas trees. We just had to share some photos, I must say that she brings so much Joy to our lives and makes us so happy and proud! Aunt MeMe and Uncle Bub sure love our little Miss Lyla!

Christmas Trees

This year didn't have much snow on the ground, only in a few places. So instead of looking for the perfect tree on a snowmobile, we looked for our tree on a 4-wheeler. Our family tradition over the years has always been to go get our tree with the Fiedlers-our very close family friends. I enjoy the memories of all the years past and look forward in many more memories. We always have so much fun and truly enjoy ourselves. We are all absolutely blessed to have the family and friends that we do, and we are thankful everyday. The picture in the middle is a nest that we found in our Christmas Tree. You never know, just might have been 2 turtle doves or a partridge in an evergreen tree! ha ha. . . . Jager was even along to help us pick out the perfect tree. We will post pictures of our tree once its decorated! Happy Holidays!
